Alors qu'on s'attendait à une version 5.2, c'est finalement la version 6.0 d'IconWorkshop qu'Axialis a sorti aujourd'hui.
Axialis IconWorkshop est un très puissant éditeur d'icônes et de librairies d'icônes, reconnu par beaucoup comme étant le meilleur. Il permet d'importer/exporter à partir de différents formats d'images, et peut enregistrer les icônes jusqu'au format 256*256 (format d'XP). Il convertit aussi bien sûr les icônes Mac ! Il intègre enfin un plug-in pour Photoshop.

La raison du passage à une version 6.0 est probablement la prise en charge des nouveaux formats d'icône de Windows Vista et MacOSX Tiger 10.4. On trouve aussi un nouveau pack d'objets, un tutorial sur comment les utiliser, etc.

 New Object Pack for Icons included (Glossy Buttons) 

The first Axialis Object Pack for icons has been included in IconWorkshop. It is a library of 150 image objects which will permit you to create an unlimited number of icons with various glossy effects and shapes simply using drag & drop. The images come in 256x256 high-quality PNG format. It permits to create icons containing various sizes up to 256x256 for Windows XP®, Vista® and MacOS®.

 Background floating selection

Using this command you can easily place a floating object in background of your icon. This is useful to add a shadow or a colored halo around an icon.

 Copy/Paste Alpha Channels as Masks

Now you can use a grayscale mask image to apply it as Alpha Channel to an icon. Also, you can extract an alpha channel from an icon to create a grayscale mask image.

 256x256 and floating Preview Window

The preview window is now adjustable (256x256 or 128x12. It can also be set as a floating window (easier to move in 256x256 mode).

Added feature to easily create additional objects - While creating an icon from image objects, press Ctrl+F3 to make a new object in a snap from this icon.
Bug fixed: Ability to support language packs - Version 6.00 was unable to support language packs, this version fixes this bug. See our website for additional language packs.

Avec presque un mois de retard, je vous annonce la sortie de la version 6.1.1, les packs de langue sont dispo mais je ne trouve pas de changelog désolé

Ability to modify named icons in EXEs - With previous version, you were not able to open named icons in EXEs. Only indexed icons were recognized.
Ability to modify icons in EXE with Extra Data - Some EXEs, like Auto-Extractible archives or compiled Flash movies, contain extra data attached at the end of the file. With this new version, the data is preserved.
