On pourra d'ailleurs noter l'arrivée du "Live Migration" pour pouvoir exporter une machine virtuelle d'un PC à un autre, les clichés d'états ou instantanés (ou encore "Snapshots") peuvent être sélectionnés indépendamment les uns des autres, en créer à partir d'un premier pour en faire des étapes à la façon d'une arborescence. Mais aussi le support de l'accélération 2D dans les systèmes invités Windows, un support plus flexible des attachements de lecteurs virtuels et des réseaux (un lecteur CD peut être attaché à un contrôleur IDE arbitraire et les cartes réseaux peuvent être changées alors que la machine est en cours de fonctionnement).
Le support USB a été réécrit pour les hôtes Solaris et on trouve un support expérimental de l'EFI et des cartes réseaux paravirtualisées. Pour terminer, les supports de la virtualisation matérielle Intel VT-x et AMD-V auront droit à une amélioration des performances.
