Le M17 est le premier ordinateur portable au monde pour un constructeur majeur à intégrer la technologie ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU, supportant Microsoft Direct X 10.1. Ce nouveau notebook d'Alienware (qui appartient à Dell, rappelons-le) délivre ainsi des performances hors-norme grâce à ses deux processeurs ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3800 couplés à la technologie ATI CrossFireX. De plus, il supporte le Blu-ray avec l’Unified Video Decoder d'AMD.
